Have you ever wanted to have more time with your pediatrician? Do you have more questions about the growth, development and health of your child than can be answered in a 15 minute appointment? Do you wish your pediatrician would answer your calls on a timely basis? Some people live in small towns where there is no pediatrician available. Family practitioners do a great job in these settings but wouldn't it be nice to ask a pediatrician questions that you may have regarding your child's health.
This website was developed to allow parents to have greater access to a board certified and experienced pediatrician. Physicians have limited time to spend with their patients due to an excessive number of patients that must be seen in an office setting. This is driven by our current health care model and rising costs of practicing medicine. Physicians just don't have the time available to personalize service. I think there is a better way to provide parents with guidance and answer their questions. Many questions you have regarding your child are common. You can go to numerous websites and get answers. However, how common is it that you can go to an "online medical home" and have instant access to the most well researched answers? Some questions are very personal and require a private discussion. Through this service you can communicate with me via email and/or by phone. We will develop a relationship over time just like the relationship you have with your personal pediatrician. There are monthly newsletters posted regarding certain topics pertinent to childrearing and a monthly call-in conference to discuss issues. Much of parenting is having the support and positive reinforcement to know that you are doing a great job. This site is meant to help parents be the best parents that they can. This site is NOT MEANT to replace your personal physician. Instead it is meant as an adjunct to your doctor. It will help to fill the gaps that may exist through no fault of your physician.
